This course aims at introducing students to the concept of veterinary medicine as a critical support for animal food production, animal health and welfare and public health.  It explains the role that each subject area taught in the programme, plays in the acquisition of the knowledge base and practical skills expected of a Veterinary Practitioner.  The concept of “One Health” in the control of infectious diseases in domestic animals, wildlife and humans will be emphasized.
