The University also secured the 1006th position globally in the 2023 EduRank ratings. EduRank, an autonomous ranking system, evaluates 14,131 universities worldwide spanning 183 countries. It utilizes an extensive scholarly papers database comprising 83,166,817 scientific publications and 1,801,313,576 citations across 246 research topics. In addition to academic metrics, the rankings take into account non-academic prominence and alumni impact indicators.

In addition to its overall ranking, the University of Ghana has secured high positions in specific research topics, such as Veterinary (249th), Healthcare Management (256th), Toxicology (261st), and Alumni Impact (621st).
